MECA OPENS CARAVAN

International Program of Contemporary Art

CARAVAN is an International Program of Contemporary Art, itinerant and multicultural, promoted and diffused by MECA Mediterráneo Centro Artístico in Almería. Spain and proposed by the Foundation Cross Over from Amsterdan. Holland that will be exposed in the MECA GALLERY from April 16 to May 30 of 2012.

Through this exhibition, the artists of different countries will go incorporating their works, their knowledge, their language and their identities to the program with the objective of breaking opposite, of uniting cultures and of emphasizing the universal character of the towns, so subjected to pressure lately. With CARAVAN the artistic different identities that participate act reciprocally, combining global languages without excuses of time, in way and of place.

The continuous immobilities of ideas and attitudes annul any future expectation without a doubt and in this sense we should remember again that the artits have always been the big instigators of the cultural advances, intellectuals, social and political. To say the opposite or to obviate it is as useless as not to be recognized oneself.

Different countries are given appointment in MECA through Caravan. Holland, Italy, Irak, Lebanon, Oman and Spain represented by 23 artists that will show us a summary of multi abstractions that break up frontly with the crushing reality of an invented realism.

We leave of the figuration of other existent realities, of unknown and remote worlds that go into MECA but so near and senses that they invite us to meditate on the current moment.

Each artist enriches us with his work from inside toward it was, as an open great book and this is the reason for what to go into in this artistic caravan will make that we imbue ourselves of knowledge, of experiences, of languages and rotundities without panic neither disproportion.

CARAVAN begins in Almería, Spain, through MECA and of here it will travel to other countries in those that new artists in an accumulative way will be included starting from Julio's month of 2012
